“I visited The Big Island Grill nine years ago and had the roast pork moco. I returned this year for the roast pork moco. It was better than I remembered!😋 $19 and worth every penny. My wife had the small bowl of saimen it had bbq pork, egg, shrimp, wontons topped with green onion.

My son and I had the roast pork moco. With two eggs generous serving of homemade gravy, slab of roast pork, on a bed of white rice. Guaranteed to stop your heart, satisfy your taste buds, and satiate your hunger! In fact, the portion is so large you won't have to eat for days!

“Delicious breakfast off the beaten path in the area! Not listed in any guidebooks so the place isn’t mobbed… but it will be soon! Fantastic food, wonderful staff. The Benedict and the Mac nut pancakes were slapper town delicious. Yum!”

“A friend recommended Big Island Grill. Their loco moco with roast pork was outstanding.
Our server Leina'ala was the best. Really sweet and kind person”

“Came in on a Saturday morning for brunch and was lucky to be seated right away, a line started forming shortly after I sat down. I tried the Macadamia Nut Pancake Combo with a side of rice and coffee.

The Mac nut pancakes weren't anything special; the nuts were mostly just for texture and didn't have much flavor. I did like how huge the 2 pancakes were. The rest of the breakfast was standard but solid. The coffee was okay, a little thin/watery. Overall, the service was quick and friendly. I’d definitely come back to try the Chantilly Waffle next time!”

“Delicious and exactly what we were looking for on our first visit to the big island. Loco Moco is served with a house-made gravy with char-grilled burger patties. If you’re a first timer trying this Hawaiian classic, you’re in safe hands coming here. To be honest though the peak of the meal was the macaroni-potato salad. Definitely the best Hawaiian mac salad we’ve had and so simple. The Portuguese sausage was delicious (still go with the hamburger patty for the Loco Moco though. It just works better). Would come again!”

“We stopped here for our last meal on this trip to Hawaii. It was decently busy and had some age on the decor and inside. The staff were friendly and you never had to wait long for anything. The menu was well stocked with different foods and averaged priced for the island. The staff was always moving and grooving to make sure the visit was a good one. The super loco moco was awesome and way better than the first one I tried at another restaurant. The waffles were happily consumed by my wife and kiddo who both reported that they were happy with their selection.”

“I heard positive things about this restaurant a while ago and finally got the chance to go! I ordered the B.I.G. Fish Salad (broiled fresh fish, romaine, purple sweet potatoes, creamy sesame dressing, etc.) and B.I.G. Ice Cream Pie (coconut haupia ice cream, graham cracker crust, chocolate sauce, diced macnuts, whipped cream). The ice cream pie might have been the single best dessert item I've ever had.”
